Uruguay’s viticulture is steadily increasing and its development is spreading towards the east, mainly focusing in the southeast, in the department of Maldonado.
In Altos de José Ignacio we discovered a new microterroir, inland, a landscape surrounded by Colinas de Uruguay, which are caressed by the constant Brisas de Mar that comes from the Atlantic Coast. These breezes speed the drying of humidity caused by excessive rainfall and prevent the presence of diseases in the vineyard. They also mitigate the high summer temperatures, enabling an excellent ripening of the grapes.
This is how our main wine lines are made, by using cutting edge technology, mechanized harvesting and a philosophy based in the concept of efficiency.
Bodega Brisas is Uruguay’s biggest winery (as a unit), with a capacity of 5 million liters.
The location and design of our 7226 m² building were especially conceived to reach the maximum levels of efficiency, maintaining the quality standards required by international markets.
